Mind boosting cacao tea that naturally contains a pure chocolate aroma and flavor
Looking for the best way to make Organic Cacao Tea?
Our original cacao tea is a tasty herbal tea from the shell that grows around the cacao bean. The husk is carefully roasted to release the beautiful natural flavors of the cacao plant. The resulting tea is clean, and naturally rich in antioxidants and promotes a natural relaxation effect with a smooth cacao flavor. If you're looking to enhance the mind boosting power of cacao tea try adding in some grass fed butter and MCT (coconut) oil to your cacao tea.
Because of the natural rich chocolate aroma and full flavor it makes for a nice wind me down tea or coffee replacement.
Science and Research
The cacao tree has a long history in Central and South America of more than 4000 years. It was cultivated by the Mayans and Aztecs and believed to be of divine origin. It also served as a valuable currency in the region.
Central American cacao now only makes up 16% of the world’s cacao production, with the remaining coming from West Africa. The Central American cacao bean is considered to be a much finer-flavored cacao and the birthplace of the food of the gods.
Interestingly too, Cacao has more antioxidants than green tea and red wine. It also contains valuable theobromine, which has a similar, but more moderate, feeling as caffeine on the nervous system. If you're looking into bio hacking,Theobromine is also popular in smart drug circles for working in conjunction with caffeine.
Cacao Tea is made from the outer shell of the cacao bean, which is roasted and removed (through a process called winnowing) to bring out the best flavors, all while avoiding exposure to toxic mold formation with carefully monitored production on our estates.
Where do we source our Cacao from?
Our cacao is directly sourced from small scale farmers in Ecuador. We pay our farmers a fair compensation for our organically sourced shells, that are harvested and roasted directly in the farming communities to which they also produce some of the finest cacao beans in the world. Our cacao shells are USDA certified organic and free from pesticides or herbicides. The intense dark chocolate aroma makes for a decadent calorie free dessert.
How to make cacao tea
Add 2 teaspoons of Cacao Tea per 8 oz cup of hot (boiling) water. Steep the shells for three to four minutes with a tea diffuser or simply allow the shells to sink to the bottom.
A cup of Herbal Infusions Cacao Tea has the same amount of caffeine as a cup of decaf coffee.
